Traveling down to Huntington Beach for the Thanksgiving holiday was a blast. We took the kids to a spot that I read about on Alive in Wonderlandand knew that on our next visit to HB we would take in Brewbakers. Brewbakers is a craft brewery AND bakery! Holy hops what a brilliant idea! As I walked into the shop I was immediately greeted by Dennis Midden, brewer, baker, and owner of this unique little shop. He gave me one of his holiday rolls that he was packaging for customers to pick up for their Thanksgiving meal. When I told him I had dough proofing at home, he called me a 'keeper' and we proceeded to talk bread. My guys walked in from exploring the antique bread truck parked out front, Dennis offered them some pretzel dough to make us all pretzels. Happy, busy kids rolling out pretzels and sipping home-crafted root beer gave the grown-ups a little extra time to decide which brew we would enjoy. After much debate, I chose the Riptide Red while Westley enjoyed the Summer Rye. The brews were indeed fantastic, so much so that it was necessary to try another. We split the IPA.
Brewbakershas a nice line of breads available which included a bread made of spent grains used in the brewing of the beers. SOOOO good! I wish I lived closer so that I could enjoy the home-crafted goodness that Brewbakers provides! If you find yourself in Huntington Beach and want a fun, funky, and memorable experience, swing by Brewbakers.
That bread sounds sooo good I think I need to stop by on one of my many trips pass the place.

Yes, I too went there with Suzanne. The pretzels are the best. It's a little hidden treasure..
